Cipriano Marín

Vice Secretary-general of INSULA (1995-2006)

Cipriano Marín was the Secretary-General of the First World Conference on Sustainable Tourism (1995), and Vice Secretary-general of INSULA (International Scientific Council for Island Development, 1995-2006). It has promoted or coordinated five international conferences related to sustainable tourism. He has worked as a consultant for UNESCO and the European Commission. Working on innovation and field project activities related to sustainable development, tourism and energy, including activities as responsible for the UNESCO’s RENFORUS (Renewable Energy Futures for UNESCO Sites) and coordinator of the Biosphere Smart Initiative, a field observatory of UNESCO sites to sharing knowledge on climate change, green economies, and sustainable development.
