2. Purpose and acceptance

The purpose of the website is to provide RTI's clients and the general public with information on the services offered by RTI, the certification Schemes owned by RTI, news of interest and other content relating to its activity.

Accessing and using the website confers the status of user and implies acceptance of this Legal Notice. The purchase of services through the website is also governed by our Terms and Conditions, and the services to be contracted are governed by their own contractual documentation.

RTI may at any time modify the information contained on the website, its configuration and its presentation, and may temporarily suspend access to it for technical, maintenance or security reasons. The current version of this Legal Notice will be the one published on the website at any given time.

 

3. Terms of use

Users undertake to use the website and its content in accordance with the law, this Legal Notice, good faith and public order. In particular, users undertake not to use them for unlawful purposes or in a way that harms the rights of RTI or third parties, not to introduce viruses or any other harmful code, and not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to restricted areas, systems or databases of RTI.

 

4. Intellectual and industrial property

RTI owns, or holds the corresponding licence for, the intellectual and industrial property rights in the websitewebsite and their content (texts, images, design, source code, logos, trade marks and other elements).

The Biosphere mark, its logos, seals and labels, as well as the Biosphere Scheme and its visual identity, are the property of the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI). Their use by certified entities is governed by the Regulations for the use of the Biosphere mark and labels. Certification bodies authorised by RTI shall use the Biosphere mark in accordance with the conditions established by RTI to identify the certifications granted under the Biosphere Scheme.

The reproduction, distribution, public communication or transformation, in whole or in part, of the content of the website without the prior written authorisation of the rights holder is prohibited, except to the extent necessary for consulting or printing it for personal, non-commercial purposes.

 

5. Third-party trade marks

Any third-party trade marks, trade names or logos appearing on the website belong to their respective owners and are recognised as such. They appear for information purposes and do not necessarily imply endorsement of the corresponding products or services. Such owners may request the modification or removal of any information concerning them by writing to info@responsibletourisminstitute.com

The websitewebsite may include links to third-party pages. RTI does not control and is not responsible for their content, unless it has actual knowledge of its unlawfulness and fails to act diligently to remove or disable the link, in accordance with Article 17 of the LSSI. 7. Liability

RTI endeavours to ensure that the information on the websitewebsite is correct and up to date, but does not guarantee that it is free from errors or that the websitewebsite will be available without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, RTI shall not be liable for any damage that may arise from the use of information published for general purposes, from service interruptions beyond its control, or from the presence of viruses or other harmful elements that could not be detected despite reasonable security measures having been taken.

This limitation does not affect any liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor the rights granted to users under consumer protection legislation.

 

8. Data protection and cookies

RTI processes users' personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights. 9. Comments and suggestions

Any comments, suggestions or ideas that you voluntarily send us through the general contact channels of the websitewebsite may be used by RTI to improve its services, without giving rise to any consideration. 

 

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Legal Notice is governed by Spanish law. For any dispute relating to the websitewebsite, the provisions of Sections 18 and 19 of our Terms and Conditions shall apply. If you are a consumer, you may in any event bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence.
